Penny Sage’s latest collection includes a print of roses on dark velvet, based off a series of three glowing rose paintings I made while living by the sea.
To go alongside this collection I painted the flowers that were growing around me at the time; roses by the laundry door, roses in a vase lit up by evenning sun; tithonia growing tall in the centre of the garden.
This new series of glowing flower paintings is installed at Penny Sage’s Tāmaki Makaurau store, 22 May - 14 June.
